Thanks to Mike Gratteri for this extra invaluable tip...........

Hi. Just wanted to thank you for putting up the link about the kameleon remote. The information was very handy.

Wanted to let you know that with your info i was able to come up with a better solution. Knowing from your info about the little bee-bee's in the sensor gave me the idea to simply elevate the sensor on one end and still leave the connections in tact.

So instead of just cutting the end I put a small buildup of solder at the top end, enough to keep the bee-bee's at the bottom of the sensor but not let them roll around inside.

So now when I pick up the remote the lights all come on but I can walk about the room or put my feet up on the coffee table and not have the lights come on.

I just wanted to share that with you since it was your link that motivated me to keep this thing and not put it in a drawer. So if your sensor is still in tact you may wish to try it. Really good 5 minute fix. Thanks for your help.

Mike

Nice Mod, Yes you could go to all this trouble to deactivate the motion sensor OR you could simply read the manual which tells you how to disable the motion sensor with a few key strokes

Different models of this remote have similar commands.

Sometimes if you take a few extra moments and read the manual it saves you a lot of pain.

"1. Press and hold P until the bottom IR segment flashes twice.
The program keys will appear:
2. Press below OTHER once. The Other programming screen will appear:
3Using the number keys, enter 9 8 5. The The bottom IR segment will
flash four times, confirming the Tilt Switch is disabled. The program
keys will appear again.
4. Exit programming by pressing once. The display will return to the
last-selected device menu screen."

Unfortunately, this doesn't work with the model in question (URC-8060), but hopefully it will help others with different models.
